Nursery Series: Introduction to Seed Collection & Cleaning

Robin Binaoro (Marin Headlands Nursery Assistant) and Stacy Jacobsen (Presidio Nursery Seed Collection Specialist) will be discussing the fundamentals of seed collection and cleaning. This class will cover basic concepts of seed formation and physiology, fruit taxonomy, collection policy and considerations, then continuing to the field to learn the difference between ripe and unripe seeds, and finally back to the lab for cleaning and storage techniques.
