Build Your Own Animal Robot Car
In this workshop, parents and children will build a robot car together and learn the details of Raspberry Pi (a small computer), electronics, and Python programming. The facilitators will work hand-in-hand with the families to assemble their robot car from scratch and then create code that will let their robot cars come to life. Children will be exposed to computer science and engineering topics in a fun and hands-on way, and most importantly, have a final product to show for all of their hard work.
At the end, the activity will include decorating the family’s creation by building a car cover. Everybody can discover and enjoy the creativity of programming and art all in this project. To conclude the activity, families can drive their animal robot car to show off their final creation.
For youth 4th grade and older with at least one participating adult.
