Mutual Air Kickoff and Listening Party

oakland airLearn how to listen to the air. Join the Oakland Museum, the Exploratorium, and artist Rosten Woo for a listening party and the launch of artist project Mutual Air, a set of networked bells that will be installed throughout the city of Oakland. Each bell connects to global climate data and hyperlocal air-quality sensors, think of them as chimes to signal air pollution. Woo will be joined by air quality and climate sensing scientists from UC Berkeley’s BEACON and 100 by 100 projects, environmental justice advocates from West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, experimental geographer Xiaowei Wang, and musicians who work with climate data as source material for a discussion and activity series on ambient sound, ambient air pollution, climate science, and climate justice.

This event is free and open to the public. If you plan to attend, please RSVP.
