Bio-remediation

Bio-remediation is an emerging, multi-disciplinary field, full of challenges and promise. Our exposure to industrial pollution and toxins are increasing in our everyday environment. Together, we will dive into the history, present day, and the future of applied research in myco, bacterial, and phytoremediation. Utilizing a diversity of enzymatic functions, plants, fungi, and bacteria alike, can successfully degrade, hyperaccumulate, and remove many anthroprogenic contaminants. Citing both small and large scale projects from around the world, we will learn what we can do as a local community to support a healthier environment.
