Ultrafast Microscopy of Quantum-Confined Nanostructures
The Ultrafast Nanomaterials Lab at Cal State East Bay explores materials at the nanometer scale that exhibit surprising properties due to quantum-confinement effects. I will overview our lab development to uncover transient dynamic behaviors of photo-excited charge carriers and their effects on local electric fields on very fast timescales in semi-conductor quantum rings, a novel class of solid state nanostructures.
