The Story of a Fun and Rewarding Career in Medicine: The Evolution of Heart Transplantation
2018 is the 50th anniversary of the first heart transplant in the United States, performed by Dr. Norman Shumway at Stanford University. Join us for a talk with Stanford's Dr. Sharon Hunt, who began medical school at Stanford one year before the first transplant. She became an integral part of Dr. Shumway’s program through her groundbreaking work with post-transplant patients. Dr. Hunt will speak about the history of heart transplantation, Stanford’s role, and her remarkable career.
