Managing California Water in a time of Change

Mention California water and inevitably comments arise about water wars, adages about fighting about water and drinking whiskey, and a whole host of seemingly intractable and contrary statements on what the challenges are and what the solutions are. Whatever one thinks the challenges are, they are all made far more difficult by what climate change has in store for us and require that we move beyond the traditional rhetoric to common sense and sometimes complex solutions. Ms. Marcus will attempt to demystify the California water picture by outlining some of the basics, some of the challenges, and some of the solutions that are at our fingertips as well as those that require us to reach beyond our comfort zone.
