PittSmartLiving is a $1.4M 3 year National Science Foundation project hosted in University of Pittsburgh to reduce public transit congestion by designing a market connecting travelers with time-sensitive local business coupons. It funds three labs: Data, Systems, and Human Behavior. We look at the social science side of the question using mathematical modeling, lab and field experiments, and simulations to understand public transit user dynamics.
