Tech and Justice: Navigating Harms in the Digital Age - Livestream

This virtual event will bring together formerly incarcerated students from UC Berkeley to discuss the technology-mediated harms that disproportionately affect communities impacted by the criminal legal system. Our guests, Shani Shay, Conan Minihan, and Eli Martinez, will share their personal experiences and insights on these issues. The table talk will be moderated by Ji Su Yoo, PhD Student at the UC Berkeley School of Information, and will cover topics such as privacy and surveillance, online financial scams, and the impact of these harms on post-incarceration life. The event will also highlight potential solutions and preventative measures that can be taken to address these issues.
