Exploring Mental Health and Wellness: An Experiential Event
In an era of fragmentation and uncertainty, having collective and safe spaces that allow for sharing and fully hearing each others’ experiences is as vital as ever. We invite you to join us at Commonwealth Club World Affairs for an interactive and experiential event exploring a breadth and depth of mental health and wellness, not in an isolated way but in a collective way.
When we gather to bring questions and experiences to the collective space, they may feel bewildering and overwhelming, but they are welcome for collective integration. Some examples may include:
- Growing wildfires in the region and other climate and ecological disruptions
- Attitudinal changes and increasing discrimination toward LGBTQ people
- Large-scale employee layoffs at national parks and forests and other federal agencies
- Longstanding homeless people on the streets of San Francisco and other parts of the Bay Area
This special program will be guided by Dr. Clayton Hoi-Yun McClintock, a clinical and research psychologist whose expertise includes embodied mindfulness, relational attunement, and post-traumatic healing and growth. Drawing from his psychological and neuroscience research, clinical practice, and group facilitation, Dr. McClintock will offer a science-based overview together with body-mind and relational exercises to explore together.
Whether you are interested in deepening your own understanding of mental health and wellness or learning to support others, this event will offer you a unique perspective in today’s rapidly shifting climate.
Speaker: Clayton Hoi-Yun McClintock, Cambrdige Family Enterprise Group; Michelle Meow, KPIX+, moderator
