Peak oil and climate change present enormous and unprecedented challenges to society as well as significant opportunities. This film seeks to inspire and motivate people to embrace the coming changes with enthusiasm rather than despair and paralysis. It features practical examples of 'low carbon' enterprises in and around the Findhorn Foundation community, a 50 year old eco village in Scotland, particularly local food and energy production. Features interviews with Richard Heinberg, Rob Hopkins and Joanna Macy.

Lisa Mead & Alex Page
Lisa Mead moved to Findhorn in northern Scotland in 2006 and in 2007 she completed a one year post-grad course in Architecture: Advanced Environmental & Energy Studies at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales. Her activities in Findhorn have included co-managing the Phoenix organic food store and serving as a trustee of the Moray Art Centre. The Turning Point is her first film.
Alex Page spent some time developing interactive media in the areas of cdrom and the Internet. He returned to film by making his first documentary The Turning Point and is now researching and writing a film dramatisation of the New Age story of Findhorn.
Erin Axelrod – Daily Acts Program Director, received a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University in Urban Studies, and studied sustainable cities in Brazil, South Africa, and New Zealand. In New York, she studied stormwater management and urban water systems. She has completed the 5-day Greywater Installer's Training with Laura Allen of Greywater Action, and you can spot her in the garden by the bluegrass songs she belts out while she digs her rainwater harvesting swales.
Slow it. Spread it. Sink it! Erin and Daily Acts founder Trathen Heckaman will talk about harvesting rainwater systems in residential, urban settings.
Melinda Kelley – Melinda is a City of Sonoma Community Services and Environment Commissioner, a Transition Sonoma Valley (TSV) Initiating group member, an environmental consultant and a professional photographer. She will talk about Sonoma Community Center's new rainwater 7,900 gallon catchment system.
