Discovering the Sun

It has taken people thousands of years to figure out what the sun actually is, more or less. We finally have the basics figured out, but a lot of detailed questions remain unanswered. Tim will review the basic physics of the sun, and the sun-Earth connection. Along the way he will correct a few misconceptions about the sun, which are wrong, despite now being “common knowledge”.
