Quantum Computing in Practice - Livestream
Quantum computing is a rapidly emerging field that uses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems that are far beyond the reach of even the most powerful traditional supercomputers. While there is tremendous promise, quantum information is remarkably delicate, and building systems that can manipulate it poses an enormous challenge. This talk will provide a brief overview of how quantum computers work, their potential application across a range of fields, and how Berkeley has built on the pioneering Nobel work of John Clarke to develop some of the most advanced systems available. It will provide a snapshot into the day-to-day work in UC Berkeley’s Quantum Nanoelectronics Laboratory and LBNL’s Advanced Quantum Testbed.
