Butterfly Garden Volunteer Workday at the EEC

Join us in this volunteer opportunity to help the educational native plant gardens and trails at the EEC!

Help us with maintain and improve the habitat and trails at the Environmental Education Center at the Don Edwards SF Bay NWR! Activities may include removing invasive plants, picking up litter, or maintaining trails! All gloves and tools will be provided, so just make sure to dress comfortably and bring a can-do attitude.

Please register and plan to arrive 10 minutes early so we have enough time to check you in and sign waivers before we get started!

Please note, volunteers under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. We are happy to sign off on volunteer hours.

Other Considerations:

  • We encourage everyone to wear comfortable clothing, long pants, warm layers, sun protection, and sturdy closed-toe shoes - all that you don't mind getting a little dirty!
  • Restrooms will be available on-site in the form of an ADA-compliant portable toilet and hand-washing station.
  • Please bring a filled reusable water bottle to stay hydrated while reducing plastic pollution!
  • If you need any accommodations, please reach out to watershedwatchers@sfbayws.org.
