Introduction to AI Governance: Principles, Policies, and Practical Implementation

As organizations increasingly adopt AI technologies, establishing effective governance frameworks is essential to managing risk, maintaining trust, and enabling responsible innovation. In this session, I will provide an introduction to AI governance and the foundational components of a successful governance program. We will explore responsible AI principles and policies, approaches for evaluating and approving AI use cases, third-party AI risk management, governance structures and oversight mechanisms, and practical strategies for operationalizing AI governance across an organization. Drawing on real-world experience, I will discuss common challenges organizations face as they deploy AI and share actionable recommendations for building governance programs that are both effective and scalable.
