'Getting It Wrong' How to Misinterpret DNA Numbers
Dr. George Carmody from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada will deliver a seminar hosted by SJSU at the Santa Clara County Crime Laboratory on 10th March on the basic principles of statistics and probability relevant to key concepts in population genetics and profile frequency estimates of PCR-based/discrete allele systems. Additional topics will include parentage testing, kinship and mass disaster victim identification.
Dr. Carmody is Professor in Biology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. He received an A.B. in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Zoology from Columbia University, and did a post-doc at the University of Chicago in Genetics.
