What Happened? Review of CyberSec events in the Past Year

There are a lot of cyber attacks going on around the world. Which are the most dangerous? Which are the hardest to defend against? What can you to protect Lockheed Martin and your family? This presentation will look at data from several major reviews and provide some new information on how complex a password is needed for most home users.
The main review is the 2011 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR), a joint study by the U.S. Secret Service and Verizon: The DBIR series spans seven years, 900+ breaches, and over 900 million compromised records. Highlights include who is behind data breaches and how breaches occur.
The other reports combines data and analysis from HP TippingPoint DV Labs, Qualys, the Internet Storm Center, and SANS Institute. It focuses on four key areas: the consumerization of enterprise computing, persistent targeting of Web applications, increased organization and sophistication of attackers, and legacy threats. The report also provides insights into how organizations can protect themselves from attack.
