The California Serengeti: San Francisco Bay Area 15,000 years ago
Senior State of California Archeologist Breck Parkman will share stories of a time when Sonoma County was home to mastodons and had a community of animals that rivaled today's Serengeti. This free talk will be at Dwight Center for Conservation Science. Light refreshments will be served at a 6:00 pm open house with the lecture to follow at 7:00 pm. Advanced registration is not required.
Breck Parkman is an award-winning archeologist with over 30 years experience. He served as the state's first regional archeologist overseeing the cultural resources of over seventy state parks in Northern California. Breck is a Research Associate at the University of California Berkeley and a Past President of the Society for California Archaeology. A writer, photographer, and avid world traveler, Breck is also a forty year resident of California and currently lives in Sonoma.
