Bookworms (Adult Book Club): Stolen Cells
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
Long after Henrietta Lacks died, some of her body's cells grown in culture survived and still today continue to produce. Join us for a discussion of the story of this poor black woman, the cells that contributed to developing the polio vaccine and discovering the secrets of cancer, and all that her family never knew about how her body was used.
This is a book discussion. Participants are strongly encouraged to read the book. The author will not be present. Please meet at the Business Recepton Desk off Middle Drive.
