CRISPR: gene-editing and deadly diseases for the public

Join us at the San Mateo Public Library for an engaging presentation about CRISPR, the revolutionary gene-editing tool that can be used to correct the genetic mutations that cause disease. Dr. Matthew Porteus is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University and attending physician at Stanford’s pediatric hospital. He is considered one of the pioneers and founders of the field of genome editing, in which the genome of stem cells is edited to cure patients of disease.
