NightLife - A Decent Catch

Nightlife

NightLife’s celebration of World Ocean’s Day continues with a night dedicated to educating both your brain and your palette about sustainable seafood.  Join the San Francisco Seafood Watch® Alliance and chefs from some of San Francisco’s most acclaimed restaurants as they show you how choosing seafood that has the least impact on the ocean’s health does not mean choosing inferior flavor.  These innovative food demonstrations will take place in our scenic East Garden, scheduled to participate are:

Eric Magnini, Executive Chef - Global Gourmet Catering
Loretta Keller, Chef and Owner - COCO500 and The Moss Room
Casson Trenor, Founder — Tataki Sushi Bar
John Ledbetter, Chef — LarkCreek Steak
with others TBA

A must see for foodies who love the ocean.

Seating for these presentations will be limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Crucible
will take the materials developed by our NightLife audience from June 3rd, and present a completed art project honoring World Ocean’s Day.  The finished exhibit will feature beautifully constructed copper and steel over an ocean of beautifully colored glass.  This piece will be complemented by other pieces from The Crucible Educational Programs, which has produced amazing pieces of industrial art through welding, glass flameworking, foundry, and blacksmithing. This gallery highlights Bay Area artists varied explorations in art utilizing the theme of sciences, with an emphasis on World Ocean Day.

Art.if.acts will display an art installation located throughout the Academy detailing the impact of plastic on our oceans since the birth of acclaimed oceanographer Jacques Cousteau.

DJ MyKill will provide the music on the Main Floor, and in the Aquarium we have the sounds of Evolutionista and Dr. Toast.
