From Pasture to Marsh: The Rapidly Evolving Landscape of the Giacomini Wetlands

Giacomini Wetland Restoration Project - 2010 Field Seminars

The second 2010 Field Seminar will feature Lorraine Parsons, Point Reyes National Seashore`s Vegetation/Wetland Ecologist, and Amelia Ryan, Point Reyes National Seashore`s Wetland Ecologist. Parsons and Ryan will address how vegetation is responding to the changes in hydrology with breaching of the levees.

All seminars meet at 4th and C Street in Point Reyes Station at 10 a.m.

We have been completely overwhelmed by the success of our field seminars and events. Inspired by the enthusiastic response to these outreach efforts, we are sponsoring more field seminars in 2010. These seminars and talks will help people to better understand the restoration process and the progress of restoration as we continue to monitor the evolution of these unique wetlands. In addition, when possible, we plan to highlight other topics of special interest in wetland restoration. Come hear about changes in bird use, hydrology, wetlands, and fish use on Saturdays this spring, summer, and fall.
