Hardcore Natural History: Sudden Oak Death

We will look at the theme of disease through the lens of plants, diving into what is commonly referred to as “Sudden Oak Death”. Phytophthora ramorum, the pathogen known to cause sudden oak death, will be explored by our expert guest Chris Lee, of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Lee has researched sudden oak through the University of California and is currently the chair of the California Oak Mortality Task Force.
