Leadership Strategies for Sustainability

How do organizations successfully align change advocacy with business strategies? In this session, Professor Barnett outlines strategies for leading sustainable business for compliance and beyond.

More companies in a variety of industries are looking hard at the way they do business in order to do the least harm to the environment. They do so because of growing public awareness about environmental damage, growing regulation around sustainability, because their competitors are doing it, and because their customers are demanding it.

But organizational alignment and implementation can be confounding. The process can be arduous, ineffective and costly without effective strategic planning and due diligence.

Drawn from case studies of a variety of businesses - from small business to global corporations - Professor Barnett will identify the key components necessary to drive a successful organizational change to sustainability.

In this session, you will learn how to;

  • manage the difficult trade-offs between business and environmental goals
  • manage incurring costs of increasing efficiencies
  • build alignment within your organization while securing stakeholders in the process
