Designing Nanomaterials for the Next Generation of Energy and Environmental Technologies

Highly engineered nanomaterials afford great opportunities for controlling fundamental electronic, photonic, mechanical, and ionic processes, which can ultimately lead to high performance energy and environmental technologies.

Here I will present examples of how we design nanostructured materials rationally to enable future generation of solar cells, electrochemical energy storage, and water technologies.

Speaker: Yi Cui is now associate professor of materials science at Stanford, having started there in 2005 after completing a postdoc in Chemistry here at UC Berkeley.
