Swingin' NightLife

This week, NightLife goes retro with a swing dancing extravaganza in our Piazza, complete with a brought-in dance floor.

You'll see performances by The San Francisco Jitterbugs, a dance club that specializes in the various swing dances of the 1920's to the 1950's, including Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, Balboa, Charleston and the Big Apple. Come see the star-studded floor show of these fleet-footed cats in action!

Learn some swingin' moves yourself from Lindy in the Park, the original free swing dance party, held every Sunday (weather permitting) in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.  The perfect chance to practice your social dancing to the sounds of jazz, blues and swing music.

And, when not watching the pro's or improving your skills, cut loose to the sounds on DJ Tanoa aka "Samoa Boy", one of San Francisco's foremost swing DJ.

NightLife resident DJ Aaron Axelsen returns to provide music downstairs in the Aquarium. Aaron is Live 105's music director, and is also the host of two new music radio shows: Subsonic, Saturday's 12-3am, and Soundcheck, Sunday's 7-10pm. He, along with fellow DJ Omar Perez, founded the long-running SF indie club Popscene, club LEISURE: a classic britpop/60s soul/90s indie dance club, which is held on the first Saturday of the month.
