First Fridays Climate Series: Atmospheric Extremes

Evidence for the extreme weather conditions we are experiencing in North America is becoming more frequent and highlighting the real effects of climate change. Throughout the Bay Area and California, we have experienced extreme heat, atmospheric rivers, sea level rise, low water reservoirs, massive lighting strikes, high winds, severe air conditions due to wildfires, depleted mountain snowpacks and other conditions that have impacted people, animals, land, waterways and agriculture.
