Ride a Comet

Come ride along with NASA for a comet encounter that is out of this world-only the fifth time in history that a spacecraft has made such a rendezvous! NASA's EPOXI mission will fly by Comet Hartley 2 early on the morning of Thursday, November 4, 2010.  Come to Chabot and watch NASA's live coverage of the event in our Theater; listen to NASA scientists and engineers describe the mission, and what we hope to learn in this close flyby of the comet; see real time images and data from the spacecraft as it sweeps by within 435 miles of the comet nucleus.  Chabot will open its doors at 6:00 AM on November 4; the NASA program will begin about 6:30 AM.  Don't miss it!
