Methamphetamine: An American Epidemic
This Stanford Health Policy Forum will focus on the ravages of methamphetamine in the United States and how policymakers should respond to the epidemic.
This forum will be a conversation with Nick Reding, the best-selling author of "Methland: The Death and Life of an American Small Town," and Dr. Keith Humphreys, Stanford Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and former Senior Policy Advisor for the White House Office of Drug Control Policy, moderated by Paul Costello, the Executive Director of the Office of Communication and Public Affairs of the Stanford School of Medicine.
In a conversation with the speakers and the audience, this forum will examine methamphetamine's addictive power, its impact on individuals and communities, and how drug policy and economic policy can support the efforts of families and health professionals to reduce the terrible impacts of the drug.
