LEGO Robotics competition
You are invited to watch the Northern California FIRST LEGO League Championship tournament on Saturday, January 29th at Newark Memorial High School (NMHS). This year's Challenge theme is all about BioMedical Engineering - the nickname is "Body Forward!"
We have 48 amazing teams and their autonomous LEGO robots participating - the Nor Cal region is one of the largest regions in the country with 385 teams participating this year and these 48 were honored as the best overall and received an invitation to the Championship. There are 4 equally weighted components in the program: Teamwork, Challenge Project, Robot Game and Robot Design.
The 48 teams have previously competed at 2 lower level tournaments in order to receive a bid to this year's Championship tournament.
The day starts with an opening ceremony at 8:45am and the first game rounds will be at 9:30am.
We invite you to join us, learn more about the teams' project idea and robot design and watch the robots in action in the NMHS Events Center.
Northern California FIRST LEGO League is sponsored by Google and many other companies and is managed as a program under Playing At Learning, a local nonprofit.
