King Tides Walk & Litter Clean-up at the EEC
King tides are a natural phenomenon causing extreme high tides each year. They are notorious for washing trash and debris into our waterways and exposing debris as they recede.
Join us at the Environmental Education Center in Alviso as we prepare for some of the Refuge's highest tides of the year by clearing litter from along Mallard Slough. You'll also learn what King Tides are, how sea level rise is reshaping our coastal communities, how stormwater runoff is connected to King Tides, and how you can contribute as a community scientist.
Volunteers under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. We are happy to sign off on volunteer hours.
