Infilling California: Policies and Programs for Sustainable Urban Futures

Gain insight into public policies and initiatives that offer hope for creating sustainable patterns of future urban growth from a widely respected and visionary architect/urban designer, Peter Calthorpe, and two progressive urban planners who have been active in creating and managing infill strategies in San Diego and Portland. These thought-leaders will present their views on the importance of infill, highlighting keys to successful implementation. This event is part of the Infilling California Seminar Series: Tools and Strategies for Infill Development, a five-part seminar-lecture series. Evenings 6:30-8:15 pm on four Thursdays from April 7-28 with two additional seminars on Tuesday, May 3, and Friday, May 6. No registration required. This seminar-lecture series will shed light on how to advance infill development in California as a viable alternative to urban sprawl. Speakers will discuss ways to address challenges and emerging opportunities for infill as California's economic and demographic conditions and environmental mandates change.
