'Great Day in Gaming' - Celebrating the life of Gerald Lawson
The Tech Museum presents the world premiere of "A Great Day in Gaming," a documentary chronicling the amazing life of Gerald Lawson, a self-taught engineer who became a Silicon Valley pioneer in electronic video entertainment, and other pioneering African-American gamers. The screening is part of the annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 18th in downtown San Jose.
Panel discussions follow screening. Panelists are: Ken Coleman, chairman of MIPS Technologies and Accelyris, technology transfer pioneer Scott Taper and Bill Stewart, president of Apollo Programming
The screening and discussion will be presented against the backdrop of an exhibition that includes examples of new products from participants in the Catapult Innovation Competition, a 12-city tour to find the best manufacturing ventures among black entrepreneurs worldwide.
