Frugal Innovation and Engineering for Emerging Markets

The Frugal Innovation Lab exists within the Center for Science, Technology and Society at Santa Clara University .  The lab unites students and corporate partners who seek to introduce innovations and technologies into emerging markets.  Their ultimate goal is to allow the incubation and development of accessible and affordable ways to create "high impact" social benefits.  Their focus has included clean energy, public health, and mobile applications and instrumentation.

At our June cafe, Santa Clara Professor Radha Basu will discuss the promise and complexities of developing technologies that successfully improve lives in emerging markets.
