Climate Change Adaptation in the SF Bay Area: Forecasts, Challenges and Recommendations

Climate change has become a reality in the San Francisco Bay Area and, while it cannot be stopped, there is much that public and private entities must do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the negative effects to built and natural environments. This panel will discuss the expected consequences of climate change, challenges to adaptation planning efforts, and recommendations for public and private planners; and provide case studies of recent adaptation projects in the San Francisco Bay Area.
