Nature in Your Neighborhood: Non-Formal Educator Two-Day Workshop

Join Literacy for Environmental Justice, San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, and Crissy Field Center for a two-day, hands-on workshop designed especially for non-formal educators.

 

The workshop explores Heron's Head, McClaren, and Candlestick Parks as living classrooms.

Participants can:

  • Gain content knowledge specific to these locations
  • Learn activities to use with students outdoors
  • Create fun, relevant, powerful experiences to meet science and history standards
  • Receive a copy of Finding Urban Nature: An Educator's Guide to Exploring San Francisco's Natural History
  • Help us shape future trainings
  • Earn a stipend of $150 for participating, plus another $100 after completing a follow up project

The two-day workshop is on Aug. 25 and 26, 8:45 am to 2:30 pm.

Meet at the EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park. Transportation to other locations to be provided.

Free. Lunch and stipend included.
