Mountain Lion Lecture
Zara McDonald, founder and executive director of Felidae Conservation Fund, will present the latest findings supporting conservation of our Bay Area pumas at a lecture on Friday, October7, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Pepperwood Preserve. This free talk, part of Pepperwood's Discover Nature Lecture Series, will be at Dwight Center for Conservation Science located in the Preserve. Light refreshments will be served at a 6:00 pm open house, lecture to follow at 7:00 pm. Advanced registration is not required.
Zara will offer tips for living and playing without fear in puma habitat and share how these keystone predators play a critical role in maintaining the health and biodiversity of our ecosystems. Zara McDonald is a San Francisco Bay Area native whose interest in wild cats peaked when she encountered mountain lions twice during her long solitary runs in the Headlands in Marin County, Northern California. Zara initially became involved in Mountain lion research and outreach in California, and then expanded her efforts to include all wild cat species.
