Celebrating the Jewish New Year: Our Role in our Planet's Health

At Rosh Hashanah, Jews celebrate the world's birthday, and take stock of our year, recognizing our role in our ecosystem's perpetuation and in its harm, vowing to improve. This session will examine why sustainability matters, the role of food and water systems in a sustainable ecosystem, and the vital role of one small insect (a bee).  Speakers: Marjorie Freedman will provide an overview of the principals of sustainability and the role of food and food systems,  and guide us toward our year-long program's specifically Bay Area/California/Jewish focus; Harold Goldberg will discuss the role of bees in the ecosystem; and Eric Rosenblum will speak about grey water and water conservation.
