The Status of SETI in 2011
Dr. Frank Drake, the scientist who pioneered the search for intelligent life in the universe, will give a rare public lecture to a meeting of the Peninsula Astronomical Society. The talk is free and open to the public, but parking on campus costs $2.00. Parking Lot 5 is closest to the lecture hall.
Dr. Drake will discuss the past, present, and future of the search for signs of intelligence among the stars, including the newer technique called 'Optical SETI'.
