EU Environment Policy: Present Trends and Challenges

As a result of the EU's Environment Policy, the citizens of Europe can count on clean drinking water and fewer pollutants in the air. While early EU environment laws made this possible through a focus on emissions control, EU environment policy today takes a much more strategic approach and environmental concerns are increasingly integrated into other policy areas. This talk will take a look at the history of the EU's environment policy, and the challenges still ahead in the quest to ensure good environmental quality across Europe.
