Speaker: Dr. Roz Lowen is a retired mycologist who was an honorary research assistant at the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG). Her doctoral research was on the ascomycete genus Nectriella. Among her interests are ascomycetes that occur on lichens and mold that occurs in buildings. She is frequently invited to give programs on general mycology and on ascomycetes to the Connecticut Mycological Association, to other mushroom clubs, local New Hampshire nature areas and at the Northeast Mycological Federation and NAMA Forays. She has been on the faculty of Eagle Hill Field Seminars for 7 years. She has described several fungi new to science and has written about two dozen publications on ascomycetes. She serves as a consultant on mushroom poisoning for the Northern New England Poison Center.
