'The Importance of Play,' Tenth International Conference on Neuroesthetics
The Tenth International Conference on Neuroesthetics, "The Importance of Being Playful," will be held at the University of California, Berkeley, May 26-27, 2012. A diverse group of speakers from the fields of neuroscience, evolutionary biology, law, art, and economics will present their work on the science and culture behind play behavior. We aim to highlight the importance of play as a fundamental expression of humanity, chart its ontological significance, and stake out the role of play in the 21st century, while indulging in some play ourselves.
The two-day conference is organized by Berkeley's Minerva Foundation, a not-for-profit, charitable foundation dedicated to promoting original and challenging approaches to the study of the visual brain. Registration for the conference is free but required for attendance.
