12,000 Megawatts of Renewable Energy for California

Governor Brown has called for the development of 12,000 megawatts of local renewable energy in California by 2020, equivalent to the output of 12 nuclear power plants. Where will it all go, what will it look like, and how might it be incorporated into our built environments? Wade Crowfoot, deputy director of the Governor's Office of Planning and Research, will present an overview of the state's efforts to dramatically increase the distributed generation of renewable energy, and Larisa Dobriansky, executive director of the Global Energy Network for Community Sustainability, will discuss how California's efforts relate to similar national and international initiatives.
