Plastic in our Oceans: Just How Bad Is it? Can We Stop It? What Can the Public Do?

Our oceans are being degraded from ocean trash, made up mainly of plastics. Plastics have accumulated in the North Pacific Ocean to a point that some are calling the area the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Learn about the extent of the problem and what we can all do to help solve it. This event will feature compelling photography from the North Pacific Ocean, as well as samples of plastics found in our sea life and our ocean environment.

Admission is free and first-come, first served. A $20 donation to America's Cup Healthy Ocean Project will guarentee your seat (two seats max). The evening will include beer, wine and snacks. Discounted parking will be available in the Pier 39 garage.
