From Light Bulbs to Legislation: an interactive climate change series
In this three-session introductory series, we'll explore the many layers of climate solutions, from urban farms to personal action plans. All are welcome to sign up and those who have attended previous Ecology Center climate workshops are also encouraged to participate in this new series.
Session 2: Field Day - Get out in the streets, run your hands through the dirt, see and create infrastructure, and let your voice be heard. At this session, we'll take a field trip, contribute to a service project, or participate in a political action. This series' field trip: Work party at City Slicker Farms. This critical organization empowers West Oakland community members to meet the immediate and basic need for healthy organic food for themselves and their families by creating high-yield urban farms and backyard gardens. Learn about the work and help maintain the farm with transplanting, amending beds, weeding, watering, and other gardening tasks. Read more at www.cityslickerfarms.org
