Writing About Vaccines When Evidence Doesn't Matter

Liza Gross

How should science journalists write about "controversial" science topics like climate change and vaccines? Journalist Liza Gross will discuss her experience writing about vaccines, encounters with anti-vaccination fanatics, and thoughts about how to bridge the gap between evidence and doubt.

Lisa Gross is senior editor at the open-acess biomedical journal PLoS Biology.  She is also a contributor to Environmental Health News, and she has written for diverse outlets such as S.F. Chronicle, Scientific American, and National Geographic's News Watch.
