Meteorites in Antarctica
Meteorites fall all over the earth, but they are best preserved and recoverable from the blue ice areas of Antarctica. The combination of relentless katabatic winds and slow movement of glacial ice in these areas concentrates meteorites that have fallen over tens to hundreds of thousands of years. Meteorites hold clues as to the origins of the solar system, the environments on other bodies on the solar system, and possibly also life itself.
