Moving for a Greener Future: The Climate Case for Public Transit
Join San Francisco Transit Riders for a panel discussion and Q&A with transit and climate leaders from across the city! In honor of Membership Month and SF Climate Week, SFTR is hosting a panel discussion, on the importance of public transit in addressing San Francisco's climate goals, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and stopping climate change. We will ask panelists about the changes necessary to move towards a greener future in the transportation sector, and some of the challenges that stand in our way. The event will be moderated by Ellen Wu, Executive Director of Urban Habitat. At the end we will dedicate some time to an audience Q&A. Whether you're a longtime transit advocate, or just starting to learn about the ways we can move for a greener future, you won't want to miss this engaging and informative conversation.
Panelists include:
- Amanda Eaken, Chair of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Board of Directors
- Jason Henderson, Professor in the department of Geography & Environment at San Francisco State University and author of Street Fight: The Politics of Mobility in San Francisco
- Tom Radulovich, Policy & Planning for Livable City, and a former elected director of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District from 1996 to 2016
- John Anderson, 350 San Francisco Coordinating Committee member
